New Playground at Tiger Academy was Student-Inspired and Volunteer-Built in Just One Day
On Wednesday, February 24, 2010 nearly 300 volunteers from the YMCA of Florida’s First Coast, KaBOOM!, Dr Pepper Snapple Group, and Winn-Dixie came together to build a playground in just one day at Tiger Academy, our charter school. Below, you’ll find a collection of press coverage from build day.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—A playground inspired by the drawings of children who will use it arose from the ground Wednesday at the YMCA’s Tiger Academy.
About 270 volunteers transformed a field behind the school in Northwest Jacksonville from dirt to a multipiece playscape in six hours. Read more.
